UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA PICKED TO FINISH FIRST
IN WCHL PRESEASON COACHES’ POLL
OKLAHOMA CITY, Sept. 24, 2019 – The defending conference champion, the University of Arizona, has been selected by the Western Collegiate Hockey League coaches as the preseason favorite to win the WCHL in the 2019-2020 season.
In this season’s WCHL Preseason Coaches’ Poll, Arizona received 45 of 49 possible points from the WCHL coaches. Four of the seven coaches selected the Wildcats to repeat as champions atop the WCHL. The University of Central Oklahoma was picked to finish in second place with 39 points and received one first-place vote. Missouri State University received the remaining two first-place votes and finished third in the poll with 38 points.
The University of Oklahoma was slotted in the fourth position with 31 points. Arizona State University finished fifth in the poll with 18 points. The University of Colorado received 14 points to finish sixth in the poll. Colorado State University received 11 points to round out the poll at number seven.
